Governor of Tatarstan visits EkoNiva

Stefan Duerr, EkoNiva Group President, has had a meeting withthe Governor of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov. In the course of the trip to Bugulma municipal district, the head of the Republic visited several operations including Severnaya Niva, one of EkoNiva Group companies.

First, the head of Tatarstan toured the fields to see the winter wheat harvesting campaign. This year, the crop is showing impressive yields – 4.2 tonnes per hectare. Stefan Duerr told Rustam Minnikhanov about the company and the large investment project EkoNiva is implementing in Naratly village – the construction of a modern dairy operation for 3,550 head of milking herd and 5,100 head of young stock. The heifer facility has already been built. Currently, the metal structures of the cow barns are being assembled. The farm houses 1,060 cows, including 333 lactating ones. The daily milk yield amounts to 8 tonnes. Upon reaching its full capacity in 2021, the dairy will produce 100 tonnes per day. Among the questions discussed in the meeting were further development of the company and state support measures. Rustam Minnikhanov thanked Stefan Duerr for the meeting and pointed out that the projects implemented by his company are extremely important for rural areas because they provide residents with employment. ‘The government will always help farmers because agricultural enterprises ensure stability in the region’, said the President of Tatarstan. ‘In this regard, EkoNiva is a role-model in the farming sector.’ A regional field day has been held on the premises of Severnaya Niva Bashkiriya farming enterprise, Belebey district.
