Ekosem-Agrar: Stefan Dürr has been elected as Chairman of the Russian National Association of Milk Producers

12 February 2019 Corporate News

Walldorf, 12 February 2019 – The members of the Russian National Association of Milk Producers ("Soyuzmoloko") have elected Stefan Dürr, Chairman of the Board of Ekosem-Agrar AG and President of the Ekoniva Group, as their new Chairman at the 10th Congress of the Association. He replaces Andrey Danilenko, who has held this position for more than ten years.

Russian Minister of Agriculture Dimitriy Patrushev was also present at the congress, which traditionally took place as part of the AgroFarm trade fair in Moscow on 6 February 2019, and commented on the election of the new chairman: “I am convinced that Stefan Dürr will continue the initiatives commenced by Andrey Danilenko with undoubted success. Dairy product manufacturing is crucial for achieving the goals set by the President of the Russian Federation in relation to the development of the agricultural sector and attaining a 2.5-times increase in agricultural exports by 2024. Potentially, milk export can reach from 800 million to one billion dollars by 2025.”

The Minister stressed that public financial aid was only one building block for the development of the dairy industry in Russia. The demand for dairy products also had to be increased. As a remedy, Dimitriy Patrushev stated an improvement in product quality and a decisive fight against plagiarism in the dairy industry.

Stefan Dürr thanked the Minister of Agriculture on behalf of the present members of the Association for his commitment and emphasized: "I am looking forward to the special task as chairman of the Soyuzmoloko. The goal is to strengthen and further professionalize the team of the Association in order to implement the manifold tasks quickly and efficiently".
