EkoNiva Dairy Products at SIAL China

15 May 2019 News from the Company

The Ekosem-Agrar Group presents its dairy products for the first time under the umbrella brand "EkoNiva" at the international food fair SIAL China 2019 in Shanghai (People's Republic of China) from 14 to 16 May 2019.

The EkoNiva Group is represented at two different venues: both at the joint stand of the Russian Federation in the DAIRY hall and at its own stand in the FOOD hall. The exhibition will provide participants and visitors with the opportunity to convince themselves of the quality of the products.

In preparation for the exhibition and the planned market entry in China, EkoNiva, in collaboration with Chinese experts, has now adapted its brand to the needs of Chinese consumers. Planning for a potential export of dairy products to China began as early as December 2018. Following market analyses and meetings with companies specialised in overseeing the marketing of Russian products in China, in February 2019 a Chinese delegation of company representatives visited the EkoNiva dairy farms in the Voronezh region and the "Anninsky" dairy plant which has already been included in the Directory of Dairy Exporters by the Russian Ministry of Agriculture.

Following a positive response from the participants in the Chinese delegation, the commercial and technical requirements for the export of dairy products are currently being discussed.

EkoNiva plans to start exporting dairy products to China already in the course of 2019.

"The Chinese market is huge and holds great promise for our company. Compared to neighbouring countries, China's demand for dairy products from abroad is by far the highest," says Stefan Dürr, President of the EkoNiva Group and CEO of Ekosem-Agrar AG. "But I think that our products will soon be exported to other south-east Asian and Arabian countries as well. In future Russia could become a significant exporter of dairy products."

In 2018 EkoNiva APK Holding produced 484,000 tonnes of milk (compared to 2017: 297,000 tonnes). The average daily production quantity has risen to 2,000 tonnes as of April 2019.

The international food fair SIAL China in Asia has been taking place since 1999. The fair brings together more than 3,000 exhibitors and 80,000 professional visitors from all over the world.
